Have you taken a career break of 18 months or more? Whether it was for family, health, travel, or something else entirely — we understand that returning to work can feel daunting. That’s why we created Relaunch@Capgemini, a supportive 6-month programme designed to help you rebuild confidence, refresh your skills, and ease your transition back into the workplace.

Ready to Relaunch
We’re here to support you every step of the way. If you’re feeling unsure, that’s completely normal. But if you’re curious, excited, or even just a little bit interested — we encourage you to apply or you can attend our upcoming event first and put an application in afterwards as application remain open until after the event. Application closing date – 19th September.
Our Relaunch event
We are also hosting a special in-person event in partnership with Career Returners to give you the opportunity to explore the programme and meet the people behind it.

About The Job You’re Considering
We’re currently looking for Software Engineers to join our friendly and collaborative team working on meaningful projects for the public sector. You’ll be part of a supportive environment where learning is encouraged, and your voice matters.
You’ll work alongside experienced professionals in a team that values curiosity, kindness, and continuous improvement. We use Agile ways of working, which means you’ll be part of a team that shares ideas, solves problems together, and supports each other every step of the way.
Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time. You will be required to travel to our office based in Telford on average 3 days per week.
If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre-employment checks, including: identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back 3 continuous years, and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service).
Your role
Don’t worry if you’re not up to speed with the latest tools — we’ll help you get there. Here’s a flavour of what your role might include:
- Working as part of a multi-disciplined team to build and improve digital services.
- Collaborating with analysts and designers to build, test, and deploy software.
- Testing, deploying, and supporting software using industry-standard tools and techniques.
- Taking part in all stages of service delivery — with plenty of support and guidance.
You’ll also have the chance to join communities within Capgemini where you can share ideas, learn from others, and help shape how we work.
Your Skills And Experience
We understand that you may not be up to date with the latest technologies, and that’s okay. We’re looking for individuals with a foundation in Java and software development with a desire to grow.
If you have experience in some of the following areas this is a great base to start from:
- Java and Spring Boot
- Building RESTful APIs
- Test-driven development and automated testing
- Open-source integration frameworks
- Working in a team using Agile methods
We also value adaptability, problem-solving, and a collaborative mindset. If you haven’t worked in all of these areas, we’ll support your development through the Relaunch programme.
