As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector's Data Platform team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Formal training or certification on Java concepts and proficient applied experience
- Understanding of microservices principles, including service decomposition, API design, and inter-service communication
- Hands on experience with Java programming and Spring boot framework
- Good verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing project requirements
- Careful attention to detail to ensure code quality and system reliability
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems
- Basic knowledge of key AWS services used in microservices architecture, such as AWS Lambda, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, Amazon API Gateway, and AWS Fargate
- Familiarity with AWS IAM for managing permissions and security
- Understanding of databases, both SQL (e.g., Amazon RDS) and NoSQL (e.g., Amazon DynamoDB)
- Practical experience with cloud-native technologies and platforms like AWS
