Role summary:
We are seeking a Graduate Data Scientist with AI or ML engineering skills to join our dynamic software delivery team. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between data science, AI engineering, and project delivery. You will work closely with AI engineers and cross-functional project teams to analyse data, identify key insights, and contribute to the development and management of AI-driven solutions, including implementing, evaluating, and deploying large language models into production environments.
The candidate must have an academic background in a STEM subject (science, technology, engineering, mathematics). Experience with programming in Python, in particular training and evaluating machine learning models on real-world datasets (in any application domain), are essential. It is also desirable to have experience with large language models, in particular prompt engineering and deployment strategies
This role is central to our building a new LLM Ops capability for a growing programme of work delivering into production a number of GenAI projects for the business. This role will also be working on a number of proof-of-concept projects looking to harness the power of GenAI.
What you'll be doing:
- Collaborate with AI engineers and software delivery teams to design, develop, and deploy data-driven solutions.
- Work with the project team and largely along side our Data Scientists and engineers to develop proof of concept solutions, this will include development work, building golden datasets and evaluation of these datasets.
- Analyse production data to identify trends, anomalies, and performance issues, and provide actionable insights.
- Define and monitor key metrics to ensure the health and effectiveness of AI models in production.
- Support the lifecycle management of LLMs, including fine-tuning, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Partner with project teams to understand business needs and translate them into data science solutions.
- Develop and maintain robust, scalable code for data pipelines, model training, and evaluation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data science practices and tooling within the organization.
- We work part of a global team, with team members in Manilla, Thailand, Europe and Americas. At times, eg once or twice a week, you will be required to start early or finish late in order to collaborate with others in different time zones.
Required Skills & Experience
- A degree in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) subject, ideally in Data Science
- Strong programming skills in Python (or similar), with experience in data manipulation and machine learning
- Familiarity with LLMs and generative AI technologies, including prompt engineering and model fine-tuning.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications And Desirable Experience
- Experience with version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (e.g., Docker).
- Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and ethical AI practices.
- Practical experience or application in a software delivery or technology-driven environment
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and MLOps tools is a plus.
