About The Role
The
Junior Asset Sponsor is responsible for the strategic asset management, planning, and performance of the M25 DBFO portfolio including Paved Areas, Structures, Dartford Crossings and the wider Tunnels and Ancillaries portfolio. This role supports the delivery of a TOTEX investment approach that is applied across Planned Maintenance, Lifecycle Renewals, and Improvements, with projected investments exceeding £70 million per annum over the remaining 15 years of the contract.
Connect Plus (CP) is the consortium that manages the 30-year National Highways flagship M25 DBFO contract, with over 140,000 assets and a management system certified to ISO 55001. The contract end date is 2039.
Location: Leatherhead, South Mimms or Dartford offices and site visits.
What you'll be doing
Supporting The Definition Of a Strategic Investment Direction, The Junior Asset Sponsor Will Interface With The Specialist Asset Management Teams Across a Diverse Range Of Assets, Including
- Technology
- Tunnel mechanical and electrical systems
- Lighting
- Pavement
- Structures
- Drainage
- Vehicle restraint systems
- Road markings & signage
The Junior Asset Sponsor will also engage with the Asset Delivery team and Commercial Team supporting that agreed project, programme and portfolios plans remain on track in terms of time, quality and performance. They will highlight and escalate delivery and programme issues where necessary, ensuring the business is aware of any asset or operational impacts caused by delays or failures. They will deploy a systems approach and help develop and deliver a joined-up approach between Asset Managers, Commercial Managers, Project Managers and Planners.
The Junior Asset Sponsor will be help shape the investment plans for each asset category focusing on value for money and value engineering outputs.
Who we're looking for
Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience
- Experience of asset investment and delivering value for money management in a construction-critical infrastructure environment.
- Strong stakeholder influencing and management skills.
- Project focussed with experience building collaboration in teams for continuous improvement.
- Experience of working in a Joint Venture or similar arrangement (desirable).
- Experience of tunnels and/or highway structures asset management (desirable)
- Experience with data analysis and data led decision making.
