Summary:
As a Junior Direct Property & Casualty Claims Advocate, you will be part of the global Direct Claims Advocacy team, engaging with a diverse client base across major lines of business, both Wholesale and Retail. You will collaborate with our Global Network, clients, and prospects to provide robust claims advocacy advice and value-added services. This role is based in Ipswich and may require travel within the UK and internationally.
The Role
As part of the team, you will:
- Communicate with clients on claims, provide technical advice, manage queries, and ensure service delivery.
- Present claims to underwriters, handle queries, provide feedback, and respond to clients, insurers, and internal departments.
- Liaise with experts appointed by clients and insurers, negotiating with all stakeholders to achieve the best settlement outcomes.
- Assess technical claims information alongside policy wordings, developing strategies for successful claims handling and resolution.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Manage large complex and high-value claims.
- Understand and articulate coverage concepts within complex policy wordings.
- Support placing teams in client retention and acquisition efforts, including participating in client pitches and providing claims information.
- Monitor market claims performance with key insurer partners and develop trading relationships.
- Ensure prompt payment of claims in compliance with requirements.
- Stay informed about accounts, market developments, and claims-specific changes, understanding key client outcomes and service delivery targets.
- Contribute to a culture of continual improvement.
- Provide input to and reference the Willis Quality Index as needed.
- Maintain accurate records on Group systems.
- Interpret instructions and issues, implementing actions according to policies and procedures.
- Keep updated on legal and regulatory developments relevant to the division/department.
Qualifications
The Requirements:
- Experience in Claim management is preferable.
- Experience in managing complex and large value claims.
- Base understanding of the International and North American Property and Casualty industries is preferable.
- Ability to understand and articulate coverage concepts within complex policy wordings.
- Background within the Insurance Industry or a relevant qualification is desirable.
- Study towards and willingness to complete Certificate CII is desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
