The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Contract Manager to join the legal team of our UK-based business division, which offers a range of B2B product lines, including language training to corporates and executive leadership programs. From our Ashridge Estate located in Hertfordshire, we complement our B2B educational offerings with a B2C business (hospitality, weddings, conferences, events). We are looking for a highly organised individual who will work under the guidance and direction of the Legal Services Manager, to oversee the drafting, negotiation, and management of a wide range of commercial agreements.
The successful candidate will support the legal team in managing contracts and helping to ensure compliance with internal processes. They will assist with identifying potential risks and work closely with business stakeholders to provide general support throughout the contract process. This role is suited to someone with good communication skills, a good understanding of legal or commercial matters, and the ability to stay organised in a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review a wide range of commercial contracts, including supplier and customer agreements
- Advise internal stakeholders on contractual rights, obligations, and risks
- Support contract lifecycle management, including renewals, amendments, and terminations
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with finance, and operational teams to support business objectives
- Maintain accurate records of contracts and related documentation
The skills and experience we look for
- Proven experience in contract management, legal, procurement, or a similar commercial role
- Good understanding of contract law, commercial terms, and risk allocation principles
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management systems/tools
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Degree in Law, Business, or a related field
- Fluency in English essential with a professional working proficiency in another language desirable.
- Ability to adapt to an international culture in a vibrant, sales driven and non-hierarchical organisational structure without “corner offices”, interacting with versatile stakeholders.
