We are seeking a
Junior Customs Clearance Shift Clerk to join our team in
Dover. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to grow their career in the logistics and customs industry.
Shift pattern: 4 on / 4 off, Day 1 & 2 0700 - 1900 & Day 3 & 4 1900 - 0700. (This is a full-time position with shift work to support our 24/7 operation. Please note that compulsory overtime may be required).
About the Role:
As a Junior Customs Clearance Shift Clerk, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day completion of customs clearance tasks and assisting our customs clerks with necessary paperwork. This is a crucial role within our operations department, and you'll be a key part of a team that keeps goods moving efficiently across borders. We're looking for someone who is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and a great team player.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling daily customs clearance work.
- Assisting customs clerks with the completion of customs paperwork.
- Performing other operational duties as needed and at the manager's discretion.
Skills and Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience in customs clearance.
- Proficient with customs clearance software
- Good understanding of Excel spreadsheets.
- IT literate with the ability to identify and report problems.
- Conscientious with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate politely and efficiently with both clients and internal staff.
- A collaborative and positive team player.
