Our Design Team deliver stand-out, affordable fashion with unique style and touches that underpin the River Island handwriting. As a Junior Designer, you’ll start to influence the direction for menswear graphics / print and be accountable for your own styles for inclusion in various ranges, that represent key trends and drive commercial results.
Overview
We are looking for a passionate Junior Graphic / Print Designer with a background in fashion to join our Menswear clothing design team. The candidate should be able to push the boundaries with their design skills to help us stay ahead of the game.
The Role
- Commercially aware of key menswear graphic and print trends from catwalk to street style and able to translate into tech pack ready artworks across different product types.
- Researching, developing, and creating prints, graphics, and logo designs for all-over and placements across all menswear categories.
- Scaling and art working prints and graphics suitable to the product type
- In depth knowledge of different print and application techniques.
- Liase with UK based and overseas factories and suppliers.
- Support the senior designer as well as managing your own designs and workflow.
- Confidently present your designs to the Senior management team.
- Highly versatile with your handwriting.

The Person
- Strong experience in the field of print and graphics as part of a fashion design team.
- Advanced Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills are essential.
- 2+ years design experience, ideally in a multichannel fashion environment or supplier.
- Ideally operating at or close to Junior Designer level
- Passionate about fashion and design.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment whilst delivering projects on time.
- Ambitious, keen and willing to learn.
- Work effectively on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
- A team player who’s happy assisting colleagues by completing tasks outside their own job role if/when required.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to think quickly, plan and organise your tasks.
- Communicate clearly, accurately and confidently.
- Attention to detail.
