Junior Management Accountant

Key responsibilities

• Assist with end-to-end accounting process for reporting various elements of the P&L
• Post monthly accruals as part of the month-end process, collaborating with senior finance colleagues to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare detailed month-end reports for management review, highlighting key variances and supporting business decision-making.
• Perform regular balance sheet reconciliations, identifying discrepancies & resolving outstanding items.
• Assist with payment run processing, ensuring timely payments in accordance with agreed terms.
• Provide assistance to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions when required, contributing to smooth departmental operations.
• Supporting the Financial Controller to identify, develop and implement improvements.

Skills and Experience

• AAT qualified or studying for ACA/ACCA/CIMA
• Previous experience with preparation of management accounts
• Strong Microsoft Excel, enabling efficient data analysis and reporting.
• Experience using Sage accounting software is desirable
• Excellent organisational skills & attention to detail for ensured accuracy
• Strong interpersonal abilities to allow you to build positive relationships with colleagues at all levels within the organisation.
• Effective communication skills to articulate information clearly when collaborating with team members or presenting findings.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being comfortable operating independently under supervision
• A commitment to continuous improvement drives you to identify opportunities for process enhancement and seek guidance when necessary.
