Junior Portfolio Manager - L / S Equity

Our client is seeking a highly driven Junior Portfolio Manager to join a high-performing Long/Short Equities pod within a top-tier hedge fund. The ideal candidate will support the lead Portfolio Manager in identifying and executing equity investment ideas, performing deep fundamental research, and managing risk across the book

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the PM in generating long and short equity investment ideas across a defined sector or region
• Conduct fundamental analysis including financial modeling, valuation, and channel checks
• Monitor existing positions and track key catalysts and market developments
• Collaborate with internal analysts and share insights across the broader investment team
• Assist in portfolio construction and risk management oversight
• Present investment theses clearly and concisely in internal meetings

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• 3–6 years of experience in equity research, investment banking, or asset management with a focus on public equities
• Strong accounting and valuation skills; ability to build and maintain detailed financial models
• Demonstrated passion for investing and a long-term ambition to run capital
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and humility
• Familiarity with long/short strategies and prior experience in a buy-side environment preferred
• Undergraduate degree from a top-tier institution; CFA or MBA a plus but not required
