Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Data centre Planner with a background in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. The ideal candidate will assist in planning, monitoring the design, and overseeing the construction of large-scale data centers. This role requires a fundamental understanding of MEP systems and a willingness to learn and grow within the field.
The ideal candidate will have a good level of experience dealing with complex MEP installations in the mission critical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the head of project management in Verne.
- Develop client schedules from initial concept design through to contract issue.
- Review and comment on contractor and subcontractor schedules.
- Develop 4D schedules from 3D models.
- Attend and where necessary
- Have a very hands on approach to dealing with the full project team.
- Support coordination with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure the successful execution of data centre projects.
- Help oversee the progress of CSA Fit Out & MEP systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders, ensuring timely completion within budget.
- Produce comprehensive progress reports, including dashboards using Power BI.
- Maintain accurate documentation of project plans, specifications, and reports.
- Fully integrate with the development and contractor to help create a collaborative working environment.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Detailed knowledge of MEP systems and their application in data centre environments.
- Strong desire to learn and develop skills in data centre planning and management.
- Proficiency in using planning and design software (Asta Powerproject BIM and P6) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively alone or in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with data centre operations or other mission-critical environments.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, IEEE).
