Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen on the Cystic Fibrosis Unit - Junior Sister/Charge Nurse. This is a part-time role at 22.50 hours.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic individual with strong interpersonal skills to join the CF Unit team.

You will manage the 5 bedded inpatient CF unit and work in clinics looking after 182 patients registered with the unit.

It is desirable that you have knowledge/understanding of cystic fibrosis and it is essential that you are interested in furthering your career looking after CF patients and families . You will provide advice, guidance and education to patients ,their families and colleagues.

You will have clinical experience and must demonstrate post registration development and knowledge of current clinical and professional issues relating to this area of expertise. ENB998 or equivalent mentorship preparation course is essential as are management experience, counselling skills and an understanding of audit and research .

Main duties of the job

  • To provide clinical leadership for a defined group of patients by managing and developing a team of nurses
  • To be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating of patient care
  • To deputise for the Senior Sisters /CF Specialist Nurse and to provide support to them
  • To take the lead in providing specialist education, training and information to patients, their families and members of the multi-disciplinary team
  • To contribute to the Cystic Fibrosis service and nursing practice development
