We are delighted to offer a permanent band 6 opportunity based on LMB Ward B8 at RSCH.
Ward B8 is a 24 bedded ward within acute frailty at RSCH where we care for patients who are acutely ill, of various ages, often very frail and suffering from underlying chronic conditions. The ward offers an amazing opportunity to gain further experience in an expanse of general nursing care and to become expert in many nursing skills.
You must be able to work well under pressure and possess good interpersonal, communication and IT skills.
As a band 6 on the ward you will gain leadership skills to become competent in leading shifts and to support and develop the team effectively to give the best clinical care possible.
We are proud to be able to offer a variety of flexible working options and contracts.
We welcome applications from those who currently hold a UK NMC registration. If you currently hold an overseas nursing qualification and require sponsorship we are not currently direct hiring Internationally Qualified Nurses.
The post holder will work as part of a team to provide an effective, safe environment of care for individual patients, their relatives and carers.
To be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without supervision.
To act as the designated deputy to the Ward Manager.
To teach and supervise junior and unqualified staff and maintain a learning environment.
To provide a patient-centred nursing service on the ward aiming to achieve the highest possible standards of care delivery, in accordance with the Trust’s Strategy for Nursing and Midwifery.
Deputise in the absence of the Ward Manager.
Develop the service within a collaborative framework.
