Join Our OPUSS Team as a Band 6 Coordinator – Short Stay Elderly Care Ward
OPUSS Ward is a dynamic short-stay unit dedicated to the care of older people. We are looking for an
experienced, passionate, and forward-thinking Band 6 Nurse to take on a leadership role within our team.
As a
Band 6 Coordinator, you will be at the heart of patient flow and team leadership, ensuring safe, high-quality, and person-centred care for older adults with complex medical, cognitive, and social needs. You will lead by example, supporting and developing staff, coordinating care plans, and working closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver excellence in a fast-paced environment.
This role demands strong clinical expertise, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate others. You will play a key part in maintaining safe staffing levels, driving quality improvements, and ensuring that every patient experience reflects dignity, compassion, and respect.

- Lead and coordinate care delivery on a busy short-stay elderly ward.
- Ensure safe staffing levels and effective patient flow.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate evidence-based care for older adults.
- Act as a role model, providing clinical leadership and mentorship to staff.
- Support discharge planning and liaise with multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintain high standards of documentation and compliance with NMC Code.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and participate in audits.
- Promote a positive, compassionate, and patient-focused culture.
