Junior Software Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our client’s growing Digital Banking team. You will be working on cutting edge Insurance software products the client offers to their customers. As a developer, you will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of your software from inception to production, working on a mixture of green- and brown-field projects, as well as learning from, and contributing to your peer group. The Banking Platform you will support is built on top of a modern stack consisting of Kotlin/JVM for the back end interacting with other Java/JVM services internally, and a React/Typescript based front end. It connects with many APIs internally and externally to aggregate and analyze customer information. This position offer a flexible, hybrid working model with the ability to work up to two days/week from home.

Must Haves:

• 1-3 years of professional development experience
• Proficient with Java or Kotlin, preferably both
• Knowledge of Spring Boot
• Knowledge of OracleDB
• Proficient with Object Oriented Programming, specifically coding fundamentals
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
• Excellent communicator, self-starter and team player

Plusses:

• Experience with other programming languages like Java, C#, JavaScript, React, etc.
• Experience with Cloud technologies, ideally AWS
