About the Academy:

Outwood Academy Riverside, founded in September 2020 through the Free Schools Programme, implements the Riverside values program for all students at the start of every academic year.

The academy is dedicated to the wide variety of students who enrol, ensuring strong routines and top-notch pastoral care for all pupils.

Located at Russell Street, Middlesbrough, Outwood Academy Riverside is set to have a new school built on Pioneering Way close to Middlesbrough College. Additionally, a satellite site in Eston recently opened in September 2024, for our new year 7 students, as the school continues to grow.

About The Role

Would you like to become part of an innovative free school, within a nationally renowned multi academy trust. An organisation that will nurture your talents and provide high quality ongoing professional development.

Outwood Academy Riverside is an 11-16 provision which opened in September 2020 as part of the Free Schools Programme. as part of Outwood Grange Academies Trust, the academy provides an exceptional provision for young people in our local community, ensuring Students first: raising standards and transforming lives of children, in the heart of Middlesbrough. Riverside is a special place to work, as there is genuine care for each member of our family. The Riverside community is proud of who we are and what we stand for. We nurture talents and develop skills, supporting one another, with kindness and compassion.

At the start of each academic year all students are inducted into the Riverside values program. This teaches them to understand how to master their emotions, develop their knowledge and wisdom, become kind and compassionate individuals, learn how to protect themselves and their ideals, develop a healthy respect for staff and students, see the importance of truth, integrity and loyalty, be courageous in situations that are difficult, be proud of who they are and be ‘lionhearted’ and fearless in the pursuit of their own happiness.

There is an academic rigour within the Academy. Students are not faced with a ‘glass ceiling’ and are not restricted by their prior attainment or context. There is an expectation that staff challenge students and themselves to be the best they can.

At Outwood Academy Riverside we have high expectations because our children and staff deserve nothing less. Would you like to be a part of this journey?

This rewarding position will primarily teach year 7 and 8 maths and would suit someone with experience of primary classroom teaching, or a secondary teacher with a strength at Key Stage 3. A passion for working with students with SEN is essential.

Outwood Academy Riverside is currently at Russell Street, Middlesbrough, it is expected that appointed staff may also be deployed to work at the satellite site in Eston.

If you genuinely love working with children, will go above and beyond for our young people and want to work as part of an inspirational and dynamic team that are proud to be creating local history, then we would love to hear from you.
