Our School

Hightown Junior Infant and Nursery School is a successful and well-respected single form primary school, serving a fantastic community in Liversedge. We are in the process of becoming part of Learning Accord Multi Academy Trust.

At Hightown Junior Infant and Nursery School our vision is to provide the highest possible quality of education and personal development for our children so that they are ‘strong enough to shine’ both now and in the future.

Our classrooms are led by compassionate, enthusiastic, and highly skilled educators who value the development and wellbeing of each child under their supervision. We cherish and appreciate the distinctiveness of each of our children and strive to assist them in growing confidently and flourishing in their unique identity.

Our rich, broad curriculum allows children to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to achieve the best possible outcomes, fulfil their potential and move on to the next phase of their education as successful and ambitious learners who are ‘strong enough to shine’.

The Role

We are looking for an ambitious, talented and caring individual to join our exceptional team. We always work hard to make our practice as good as it possibly can be for all the children. This is a unique opportunity to make your mark and make a real difference.

You will be responsible for the implementation and impact of our curriculum through the delivery of exceptional teaching and learning to all pupils. This will ensure they achieve the very best that they can.

Teaching Responsibilities Include

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons that meet the needs of all students in the class.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that is aligned with the National Curriculum and school policies.
  • Provide regular feedback and assessment to students and their parents/carers on progress and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistency of practice and high standards across the school.
  • Support and encourage pupil well-being, ensuring that all children are able to achieve their full potential.

The Candidate

You must have the ability to engage, inspire and motivate both pupils and colleagues and have the strategic vision to be part of the team moving our vibrant school forward.

You will be responsible for teaching in lower KS2, and will be able to demonstrate excellent classroom skills, including a sound understanding of how children learn. An interest and willingness to lead our music curriculum, whilst not essential, would be advantageous. You will also have the ability to forge excellent relationships with colleagues, parents and most importantly, our children. You must be a team player who is an exceptional teacher of English and maths, as well as having the knowledge and skills to inspire children’s learning in all wider areas of the curriculum. You will need to be prepared to go that extra mile.

If you are a dedicated and passionate teacher with a desire to make a real difference in the lives of children, then we want to hear from you. We are arranging open visit events on the dates below that will give you the opportunity to find out more about our wonderful school and would strongly recommend that you attend one of these before submitting your application.

  • Monday 15th September at either 1pm or 4pm
  • Monday 22nd September at either 1pm or 4pm

Please contact the school office to arrange a visit to our school.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children and young people. The applicant will be required to obtain an Enhanced Disclosure from DBS and a range of other recruitment checks.

Completed forms should be returned via email to by 3.00 p.m. on Friday 3rd October 2025

This job is subject to a DBS check at the appropriate level, please refer to the Job Description/Profile. A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
