Analyst 1 to join our
Inorganics team at our Wakefield site. This is a great first step into the scientific sector – perfect if you have a passion for science and want to build a meaningful career. Your work will involve using state-of-the-art equipment, accurate data reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulations.
About The Position
Shift: 37 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday (07:00 – 15:00 – flexible)
Salary: From £24,242
Location: Ossett, Wakefield
Contract: Fixed Term, Full-Time
The day to day
- Preparing and analysing wastewater, soil, and sludge samples using a variety of inorganic and wet chemistry techniques.
- Making sure testing is carried out efficiently and accurately, following established procedures and regulations.
- Recording and reporting data with attention to detail.
- Working collaboratively with your team to meet targets and support each other.
- Contributing to our Taste and Odour panel (after training), on a rotational basis.
- Following health and safety guidelines to keep you and others safe at work.
The Essentials
- GCSEs (Grade C / Grade 4 or above) in Science, Maths and English, plus an A-Level or equivalent in a science subject.
- A genuine interest in science and learning new skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Basic IT skills and a willingness to get stuck in.
- Organised, reliable, and able to manage your own workload.
