At Intertek, we’re seeking a driven Laboratory Supervisor to lead operations at our St Fergus Gas Terminal lab. This is a key leadership role where you'll oversee a small team, ensure compliance with ISO 17025, and deliver outstanding service to internal and external stakeholders.
About You
You’re a confident people manager with a strong background in laboratory operations and quality systems. You're hands-on, proactive, and committed to high standards in safety, performance, and customer delivery.
Key Requirements
- HND or degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant scientific discipline
- Strong knowledge of ISO 17025 and UKAS requirements
- Previous experience managing lab teams and workload
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Flexible, organised, and able to work under pressure
- Confident in client-facing environments
About The Opportunity
You’ll be responsible for day-to-day lab operations, ensuring technical quality, supporting staff development, and maintaining safety and compliance. You’ll act as the site’s UKAS Quality & Technical Manager and play a central role in supporting Intertek’s wider growth goals.
Key Activities
- Manage lab team performance and development
- Oversee sampling, analysis, and reporting
- Maintain compliance with ISO 17025 and client protocols
- Lead audits, quality reviews, and internal training
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal departments
- Champion QHSE procedures and continuous improvement
