The Role
As a dedicated Laboratory Technician in our pathogens department, you’ll dive into the fascinating world of microbiological testing!
Your role will involve performing microbiological analyses on food and environmental swabs, supporting testing procedures, ensuring efficient workflow, and adhering to good laboratory practices. You’ll prepare samples, plate, pour, and incubate them with top-notch aseptic techniques.
Additionally, you’ll ensure our equipment is in perfect working order, conduct daily microbiological checks, and actively participate in both internal and external quality control programs. Join us and be part of a team that values precision and excellence in every step!

- Hours Per Week: 40
- Contract: Full Time and Permanent
- Annual Salary: £25,834
- Weekly rotating shifts:
- Shift 1: Tuesday to Friday, 11:00–20:00; Saturday, 13:00–22:00
- Shift 2: Tuesday to Friday, 14:00–23:00; Saturday, 13:00–22:00
The day to day
- To perform work with a high level of accuracy, and ability to follow procedures
- To conform with all site quality management systems and health and safety procedures
- To perform analysis within the timescales required and ensure that result availability is in line with the method and client expectations
- To ensure that all records are completed concisely and accurately with paperwork written in clear handwriting
The Essentials
- Experience in a high throughput working environment
