West Berkshire Council is seeking a Lawyer (Planning) to join our Legal and Democratic Service, reporting to the Principal Lawyer - Planning, Regeneration & Property. About The Role
As a Lawyer (Planning), you will be responsible for:
- Providing legal advice and support on planning, regeneration, and property matters
- Advising on planning applications, appeals, and enforcement issues
- Drafting legal documents, including agreements, notices, and correspondence
- Representing the Council at planning inquiries and hearings
- Working collaboratively with other teams and services to achieve positive outcomes
You will be part of a dedicated team of professionals, working together to deliver excellent services to our local community.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Qualified solicitor, barrister, or chartered legal executive with relevant legal qualifications
- Experience in providing legal advice on planning and environmental law
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and case law
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Team player with a collaborative approach to working
