As the Lead Clinical Sleep Physiologist at Cromwell Hospital, you’ll take a leading role in the delivery and development of our expanding Sleep Clinic. You’ll oversee daily clinical operations, support affiliated sleep services across London, and ensure the highest standards of patient-centred care. This is a unique opportunity to shape a growing service, lead a skilled team, and contribute to strategic planning and innovation in sleep medicine.
How You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen
- Lead and deliver a wide range of advanced sleep diagnostics, including actigraphy, respiratory polygraphy, transcutaneous CO₂, polysomnography (inpatient, home video, ambulatory), and MSLT.
- Provide expert analysis, interpretation, and reporting of sleep studies.
- Oversee ventilation therapies (CPAP/NIV) and sleep positional training (SPT).
- Manage daily operations including rota planning, stock control, equipment calibration, and service scheduling.
- Collaborate with consultants, secretarial teams, and clinic coordinators to ensure a seamless patient journey from referral to review.
- Support the Centre Manager in service development, business case preparation, and financial planning.
- Lead and mentor the sleep physiology team, including bank staff, ensuring high standards of clinical practice and professional development.
- Represent the department in multidisciplinary meetings and deputise for the Centre Manager when required.
- Ensure compliance with CQC and hospital governance standards, contributing to audits, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Skills / Qualifications
- BSc (Hons) in Clinical Physiology or equivalent specialist training.
- Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience in sleep diagnostics, including CPAP/NIV.
- Registration with AHCS or equivalent; membership of BSS, BDSS, or ESRS desirable.
- Proven leadership and team supervision experience.
- Strong understanding of private healthcare service delivery.
- Proficient in Office 365 and clinical systems.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills.
- Passionate about sleep medicine and committed to delivering outstanding patient care.
