That's where you come in! We’re excited to be looking for a Lead Data Scientist to join the team!

As a Lead Data Scientist, you will be responsible for evolving our modelling capabilities and leading the company’s AI adoption strategy. You will manage a small team, balancing hands-on model development with strategic oversight as well as act as the go-to expert for applying AI/ML to solve business challenges.

This is a role for someone who wants to lead from the front, shape the company’s AI roadmap, and ensure we’re not just keeping pace with the market, but setting it.

• Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Data Scientist in financial services, consumer lending or fintech, with experience managing and developing analytics teams.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL and modern machine learning frameworks.
• Deep understanding of credit and fraud modelling, pricing models and lending analytics.
• Demonstrated experience in researching, prototyping and deploying AI/ML solutions in production.
• Ability to set AI strategy and influence at senior leadership level.
• Strong grasp of model governance, monitoring and explainability in a regulated environment.
• Exceptional communication skills, able to bridge technical and commercial priorities.
• Lead a small team of data scientists, ensuring delivery of high quality models and analysis.
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of models from data sourcing to deployment and monitoring.
• Drive innovation in modelling approaches, exploring advanced ML techniques while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders across Credit Risk, Pricing, Product and Engineering to embed data-driven decision making.
• Oversee the development of model monitoring frameworks, performance tracking and testing frameworks.
• Translate complex analytics into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
• Champion best practice in coding, version control, documentation and automation.
• Act as the company’s expert in AI, staying ahead of emerging trends, tools and regulatory developments and leading research and prototyping of AI-driven solutions.
• Salary range £90-105k
