Lead Engineer - FinTech

Miryco Consultants are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to join a high-growth FinTech and drive the development and growth of a market-leading RegTech platform.

In this leadership position, you will take ownership of the technical roadmap, mentor and grow the development team, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions. This role requires a strong blend of hands-on development expertise, strategic vision, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of core software components, ensuring robust, scalable, and maintainable code.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Oversee code reviews and enforce best practices to maintain high coding standards and software quality.
• Collaborate with product management and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and deliverables.
• Drive the adoption of industry best practices, tools, and technologies to enhance team productivity and product performance.
• Lead the onboarding and technical enablement of new developers, ensuring smooth integration into the team and projects.
• Manage technical risks and troubleshoot complex issues across the codebase.
• Contribute hands-on to the development effort, particularly in critical or complex areas of the codebase.
• Support scaling the platform’s operational capability by leveraging the existing product pipeline and identifying opportunities for innovation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineering, web development, and DevOps to deliver integrated solutions.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Significant experience professional software development in a commercial environment.
• Proven experience in leading and managing software development teams.
• Proficiency in Python programming with strong foundations in object-oriented design and development.
• Experience working with large datasets, including APIs & data lakes.
• Extensive experience in data analysis and data engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to share knowledge and mentor junior and mid-level developers effectively.
• Experience with back-end development supporting web applications.
• Familiarity with embedding graphical outputs into web applications (e.g., using Dash or similar frameworks).
• Experience working with AWS or other cloud platforms is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in financial services or RegTech domains is a strong plus.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively between technical teams and business stakeholders.
