As a Lead Information Manager, you'll provide expertise and support to GGP Head of Digital and Information Management in definition and implementation of information management strategy for The Great Grid Partnership.


This involves definition and evolution of ISO 19650 compliant information management processes and standards as well as leading design and configuration of the GGP Common Data Environment (CDE) systems.


You'll have overall responsibility for transition from current state to new ways of working and ensuring the new process and systems are consistently adopted in all GGP projects, provides direction and guidance to Project information management teams for implementing information management approach and monitors compliance with agreed ways of working.


In this role you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home. You'll be flexible to occasional in person meetings at National Grid offices and locations.


Key accountabilities

  • Lead development and implementation of GGP information management strategy and in line with industry standards and best practice.
  • Work with existing or newly started projects on the GGP programme to understand IM requirements and existing standards, identify requirements gaps, manage upgrades and continuous improvement.
  • Review and technically assure technical documentation for the GGP IM framework.
  • Oversee the update and configuration of IM systems and technical resources used by IM specialists as well as staff across the project.
  • Ensure development and delivery of appropriate training for IM systems and processes.
  • Review and technically assure Project BIM Execution plan against GGP IM framework requirements.
  • Ensure consistent adoption of IM framework within GGP projects, assesses project readiness and supports Project IM function mobilisation activities.
  • Support risk and opportunity identification, as well as mitigation plans and benefits analysis.
  • Participate in digital governance, report progress, risks and opportunities related to IM and digital delivery.
  • Interface with other GGP and NGSI digital specialists and information management experts to drive alignment in digital capability building across the GGP delivery organisation.


About you

  • Significant experience leading Information Management functional departments, teams, projects and tasks.
  • Project management skills and experience of working to challenging large scale infrastructure programs, keeping to costs, and coordinating resources.
  • Significant relevant background technical IM experience and application of ISO 19650 Information Management framework in complex major infrastructure projects.
  • Commercial knowledge and experience in risk, opportunities and benefits evaluation.
  • Excellent understanding of quality management systems and processes related to ISO 19650 and related IM systems including GIS and Survey Data Management.
  • Extensive experience in implementing digital delivery and BIM solutions related to Infrastructure delivery on large-scale projects and programs.
  • Ability to assimilate and clearly communicate and explain technical information.
  • Must have an eye for detail, be methodical and have close attention to accuracy.
  • Able to develop and implement information strategies within complex capital infrastructure delivery organisation.
  • Proficiency with CDE platforms (ACC, SharePoint, others) and ISO 19650 implementation.
  • Higher education in IM or related field such as Engineering, Surveying or IT.
  • Chartered with a professional body such as the RICS, ICE, British Computing Society or similar.
  • Understanding of enterprise IM systems used within energy transmission infrastructure (desirable).


What you'll get

A competitive salary between £66,000 – £80,000 – dependent on capability.


As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 30% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
