This role is an essential part of the senior nursing leadership team focusing on meeting our current and future workforce plans. Engaging clinical teams to review their establishments, you will enable, enact and support the required changes to the workforce.
The post holder will play a crucial role in supporting consistency across the care groups, creating strategic insights to shape safe and sustainable staffing across the Trust whilst generating innovative solutions to increase roster efficiency and improve recruitment and retention.
The post holder will support the Deputy Chief Nurse and Care Groups with the overview and coordinating functions for leading and developing the Trust approach to Nursing workforce/safer staffing in line with national and regulatory requirements.
The post holder will build upon their specialist knowledge and function as an expert within workforce development, effectively contributing to the Trust agenda.
To lead on the nursing and midwifery establishment reviews and non-ward-based nursing reviews.
To lead on processes to maintain assessment of daily safe staffing and systems which support the allocation of appropriate nursing resource.
To lead on the effective recruitment and retention of nurses and reduction of agency project.
To lead on the governance arrangements for clinical policies, procedures, and nursing competencies related to safe staffing.
To contribute to corporate decision-making at strategic and operational levels.
To support on all aspects of pre and post registration nursing education.
To be visible and accessible for staff to turn to for assistance, advice, and support, acting as a clinical and managerial resource.
To have in depth knowledge of clinical and professional issues, specifically related to nursing to provide leadership, advice and support to the Trust specifically related to The Code: Professional Standards of practice and behaviour for nurses, midwives and nursing associates.
To implement national policy as it relates to clinical and professional issues.
To support in the development of clinical practice facilitating clinical education for professional and non-professional staff.
To work collaboratively with the E-roster team and the nursing directorate education and recruitment team.
