This is a fantastic opportunity to join HCA Healthcare’s growing Cancer Centre of Excellence, as the Lead Physicist for the MR-Linac and SABR services. The Harley St Clinic has an established linac-based SABR service across its fleet of Varian Truebeam linacs and in Q1 2026 the department will be going live with an Elekta Unity MR-Linac, which is currently under construction.
In this role you will provide managerial leadership and support to a dedicated team of physicists and dosimetrists. You will be directly responsible for the management of all aspects of medical physics and planning activities as it pertains to the MR-Linac and all aspects of medical physics activities as it pertains to the linac-based SABR service.
Duties
- Drive and implement service development across MR-Linac and linac-based SABR service
- Be responsible for deciding the appropriate course of action in highly complex situations which may impact the service delivery
- Providing effective clinical leadership for staff working in the service
- Provide specialist advice to Senior Leadership Team and Corporate to formulate future strategy
- Be the leader, contributor and expert in the field of MR-Linac and SABR services across the wider HCA network
- Support of SLA management as it pertains to the role’s responsibilities
- Be responsible for all radiation protection matters including ensuring compliance with legislation i.e. IRR and IR(ME)R regulations (MR-Linac and SABR)
- Be responsible for MR safety matters (MR-Linac)

What You’ll Bring
- HCPC registration
- Ability to act as a Medical Physics Expert for Radiotherapy as defined in IR(ME)R 2017
- Masters degree in relevant scientific, technical, or healthcare related discipline
- Advanced theoretical & practical knowledge of ionising radiation and radiotherapy physics
- Strong leadership skills
- Experience in management of diverse teams
- Commissioning and implementation of new equipment and techniques
- Project management
Desirable
- Experience of MR-Linac technology
- Experience of working in an MR environment
