Remarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the world. Wood is recruiting for a Lead Planner to support across a portfolio of high-profile EPCm projects in the UK. The Lead Planner will join our Systems Integration team within our Digital Consulting business.
There is a requirement for hybrid working with Tuesday and Wednesday being based out of any of the following locations – Aberdeen, Glasgow or Staines.
This position will be for a minimum 6 month duration.
Please note applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.
The Role The Lead Planner will be accountable for the development of project schedules and plans, ensuring they are prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy and accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures, and standards.
This Lead will supervise and manage the Planning team in terms of delegating work, reviewing the work output of the team where appropriate, providing guidance and support, and managing the development of the Planning team members.
This is an ideal role for an experienced Lead Planner experienced in managing the Planning across a portfolio of brownfield EPCm projects.

Responsibilities
Key Objectives for this role: - Liaise with cost discipline to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets and ensure that the impact of all change requests are properly assessed and included in the schedules
- Participate in schedule risk analysis as required
- Lead and participate in Project Controls Compliance and Continuous Improvement Reviews
- Play a key role in the mentoring and career development of Planning personnel
- Acts as Planning focal point for specific project scopes
- Review and maintain planning control structures are developed and maintained in alignment with approved project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
- Review and maintain baseline project plans and schedules using appropriate scheduling software
- Monitor and control planning activities through all phases of project lifecycle
- Liaise with engineering, procurement and construction functions, and others as required, including third parties, to maintain awareness of project activities, their status, and their impact on the project schedule and manpower requirements
- Analyse and issue copies of project progress and performance status reports in accordance with project reporting requirements
- Review and analyse updates to project plans and schedule as well as project manpower requirement
- Assess and communicate schedule impact of change notifications
- Monitor overall project progress status, achievement of major milestones, and evaluate project performance in relation to planned performance
- Attend internal project progress and performance status meetings as required

Expected: - Typically requires ISCED level 6 (Bachelors) Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and/or industry experience)
- Strong understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management
- Significant prior experience in a senior planning role
- Advanced knowledge of Primavera and other scheduling software and related tools and techniques including Logic and CPM analysis, resource loading and levelling
- Advanced knowledge of Project Execution Procedures for SchedulingUnderstands EPCm Cost Management
- Capability to effectively manage planning across a Framework
- Drive standardisation, consistency, best practice to achieve performance excellence
- Ability to mentor / train to transform how we currently work
