Are you looking to play a key role in the Data & Insight transformation journey of a successful and fast-growing omnichannel retailer? It’s an exciting time at Dunelm, as we look to expand our talented Analytics and Data Science team in order to achieve our mission to put data and insight at the heart of decision making across the business.
This role will play a vital part in creating a web and App experience that delights our customers, through understanding how they interact with our site across both web and App, developing hypotheses to improve usability and maximise revenue, and planning and evaluating experiments. By providing these key insights, it will help inform the business on where to further prioritise development of the App.
This role can be based in Leicester or London.
What you’ll be doing
- You’ll monitor and understand key conversion trends, improving our understanding of App and web performance
- Lead the generation and delivery of insights on customer behaviour, pain points, and opportunities to enhance the App experience and improve personalisation
- As a trusted partner to the Digital and Product teams, you’ll work together to turn ideas into plans, with clear hypotheses and well-defined success metrics.
- Deliver and communicate impartial analysis of test results, understanding impacts on customer behaviour and developing recommendations for rollout of further initiatives
- Your expertise will feed into plans for future development of our App, through data-driven insight, helping product teams prioritise the most impactful opportunities. This will include collaboration across multiple areas of the business from product, design, user experience and trade to optimise user journeys
- Support in the development of robust KPIs and reporting that help teams self-serve, driving a data driven culture within the business
- As a key member of the Insights & Analytics team you’ll partner with others around the team to share experimentation best practices to ensure continued development of our testing capabilities across the App, website, stores and digital marketing
- As a key member of the Analytics team, you’ll play an important role in contributing towards the culture, as well as being an advocate for data, insight and the voice of the customer throughout the business
What we look for in you:
- Significant experience working with Product teams (or similar), using data to understand customer behaviour and drive a customer-focussed strategy
- Strong understanding of statistics and hypothesis testing, including Bayesian and frequentist approaches, with experience of applying them in a business setting
- Significant experience in exploring large datasets, with proficiency in SQL. Knowledge of Python, R or another major programming language is a plus
- Prior experience working with App analytics highly desirable. This could include but not limited to experience with using an MMP, assessing push notification performance and detailed skills with assessing app event tracking
- Experience working with Google Analytics and BigQuery preferable
- Knowledge of testing tools (Monetate or similar) desirable
- Experience in data visualisation tools like PowerBI/Looker desirable
- Creative, curious and customer focussed, with a passion for making an impact through data
- Able to work independently, and prioritise accordingly in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative, with excellent communication skills and an ability to tell stories and influence decisions through data
- Actively contribute and share expertise and skills within a wider Insight & Analytics team to raise capabilities accordingly
- Extensive work experience, using your analytical skillset to tackle business problems
- Degree in Maths, Stats, Economics, Computer Science, Physics or a related field; or equivalent related professional experience.
