To advance our data and AI capabilities, we're recruiting a Lead Product Owner - Data and AI Platform to oversee the platform's ongoing operation and development and grow its adoption throughout AXA XL.
The platform facilitates the entire lifecycle of data, machine learning, and AI, including scalable data transformation, engineering, deployment, and operations. It now integrates Azure AI for advanced document handling and provides shared AI functionalities for end user applications. Our technology primarily utilises the MS Azure ecosystem, especially Azure Databricks and Azure AI services.
What you’ll be doing
Leadership & Team Management Skills
- Demonstrate expertise in managing and coaching cross-functional teams, including full-time employees and contractors, across multiple geographic locations (e.g., USA East Coast and India).
- Foster a collaborative environment that promotes team productivity, professional development, and effective communication.
Product Ownership & User Experience Optimisation
- Take ownership of platform product development, ensuring the delivery of seamless, compliant, and cost-effective user journeys for diverse user segments, including interactive users, application developers, and IT operations.
- Design and maintain clear, user-centric workflows that enhance user satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Compliance & Governance Expertise
- Ensure platforms adhere to enterprise standards for data governance, security, privacy, and AI governance.
- Implement role-based access controls and other security measures that simplify compliance while supporting user productivity.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Strategic Alignment
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including the Global Technology CTO, to expand platform capabilities—focusing on enabling rapid, economical delivery of end-user applications.
- Contribute to the development of managed AI features, standardised deployment processes, architectural patterns, and operational playbooks.
Communication & Advocacy
- Serve as the primary voice of users in discussions with technical, security, and governance teams.
- Effectively communicate user needs and platform capabilities to ensure alignment and drive strategic initiatives.

- Prior experience of system administration, cloud engineering, solution engineering, and architecture (business impact of technical solutions).
- Stakeholder Management (collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders).
- Business & Process Improvement (improving workflows and ensuring platform efficiency).
TECHNICAL Skills
- Proven experience as a Platform Owner / Technical Product Owner / Senior Platform / Senior Infrastructure Engineer of a Cloud-based platform offering.
- Understanding of data science and developer workflows and best practices, such as CI/CD, model management lifecycle.
- Familiarity with data warehousing, cloud-based services, data governance & controls, AI & automation.
- Willingness to grow technical and management expertise; staying updated with evolving technology.
- Prior experience of machine learning and data application development and operation (useful to have).
- Experience in system administration, cloud engineering, solution architecture, and cloud automation technologies such as Terraform (useful to have).
- Azure Cloud certifications (a plus).
