Duration: Part-timePermanent role, 21-24 hours per week.
Location: This role is based in The Quadrant:MK. This role is a full-time opportunity, flexible working patterns will be considered. For Quadrant:MK, you must live within 75 minutes.
Band & Salary: (Band 5) £26,500 (FTE)
Brief Description
In this role, you’ll be responsible for producing and delivering essential planning and operational publications that support the smooth running of the rail network. You’ll work with tools and data from across the business to ensure our outputs are accurate, timely, and aligned with service level agreements. You'll also work closely with industry partners, making sure their needs are reflected while staying compliant with regulatory and corporate standards.
About The Role (External)
About the team..
Our team supports Operational Planning & Performance through the production and management of key publications and regulatory reports. From maintaining controlled documents and distribution schedules to ensuring data accuracy and supporting system updates, we help keep the rail network informed and compliant. We work closely with end users, manage data flows between systems, and drive continuous improvements—all while ensuring our outputs are delivered on time and to a high standard.
What does the average day look like?
You’ll be responsible for reviewing and updating key planning publications, controlled documents, and regulatory reports—ensuring everything is accurate and delivered on time. You’ll maintain publication schedules and distribution lists, keeping data current across multiple systems. A big part of your day involves working with both internal teams and external partners, helping to validate data transfers and answering queries about document standards and processes. You'll also play a hands-on role in improving our tools and systems, supporting testing and development work, and contributing ideas for greater efficiency. Throughout it all, you’ll manage your own workload to meet tight deadlines and keep everything running smoothly.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who’s highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident managing documents in a fast-paced environment. You’ll have experience working to deadlines and standards, with strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to building relationships with stakeholders. You should be comfortable prioritising your workload, solving problems independently, and making informed decisions. A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office and previous experience in document control are essential.
Essential Criteria
- Proven ability to engage with customers and build collaborative relationships with stakeholders
- Proven experience in delivering to agreed timelines and standards
- High standard of verbal and written communication
- Ability to prioritise and take ownership of own workload
- Proven experience of managing outputs in a document control environment
- Excellent, decision making and problem-solving skills
- Good knowledge in Microsoft office products
