Position Overview
The Lead Reservoir Engineer role will provide subsurface engineering support for the delivery of the asset life of field plan. The candidate will work within an integrated subsurface team, to deliver high quality reservoir models, as well as developing the asset opportunity inventory.
The role is wide ranging and will provide an opportunity to utilise and develop various reservoir engineering skills, including infill well target evaluation, waterflood management, advanced simulation techniques and classical reservoir engineering.
Principal Accountabilities
- Play a lead role in transforming an opportunity rich reservoir into executable plans that will form an important part of the company’s growth.
- Work closely with petroleum engineers in the identification & evaluation production adding well-work opportunities
- Construct and history match simulation models, working closely through this process with an experienced multi-disciplinary subsurface team.
- Implement the latest generation of reservoir modelling methodologies and software to explore alternative scenarios and manage uncertainty
- Support the reservoir modelling analysis with classical reservoir engineering analysis to confirm and validate forecasts and opportunities.
- Identify and evaluate drilling, workover and other development opportunities and work with an innovative well engineering team to mature well designs to drill ready status and then support the Execute phase for any operational decisions.
- Generate Life of Field forecasts and provide input to the end of year reserves process
- Understand and communicate field performance and develop reservoir management plans; present to management and joint venture partners.
- Participate in peer assists and peer reviews and seek input from others to ensure technical high quality is achieved in evaluations.

- A working knowledge of production engineering and well engineering
Experience
- Demonstrable track record of utilising Reservoir Engineering skills to identify development opportunities, in a variety of North Sea fields.
- Significant work experience with industry standard modelling packages (preferably PetrelRE, TNavigator, PETEX suite, Kappa well testing software)
- Working knowledge of petroleum geology, geophysics and petrophysics to enable integration within a multidisciplinary team.
- UK North Sea experience, some of which would preferably have been gained with an Operator.
