Contract Role: Lead Software Engineer – AI/ML Focus

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join a fast-paced AI platform team supporting internal clients in the banking sector. The role involves designing and optimizing prompts for document understanding, collaborating with stakeholders, and building PoCs using Python. You’ll work with modern LLMs and contribute to scalable AI solutions.

This is an insider ir35 contract position, 3x a week in the london office, 2x a week wfh.

Key Responsibilities:

Design advanced prompts for document understanding and data extraction.
Build and iterate PoCs using Python.
Validate and optimize prompts across different LLMs.
Collaborate with ML engineers on fine-tuning initiatives.
Maintain prompt libraries and document best practices.

Required Skills:

Advanced Python (FastAPI, Flask, asyncio).
API integration (REST, Kafka).
Authentication (OAuth2, JWT, Azure AD).
Experience with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic), RAG architectures, vector databases (FAISS, Azure AI Search).
NLP techniques: NER, classification, summarization, QA.
Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex.
