Lead Software Engineer

London - Hybrid (2 days per week onsite)

Up to £120,000 + Equity

We have partnered with a well-backed organisation operating in a multi-trillion-dollar industry that’s currently underserved by technology. This company is taking a data-centric approach to revolutionise the sector, building intelligent, scalable solutions that will redefine how the industry operates.

As they continue to grow, they’re looking for a Lead S Engineer to drive backend development and technical leadership.

What You’ll Do:

Lead the design and development of scalable backend services using TypeScript.
Architect and maintain APIs that integrate seamlessly with front-end and external systems.
Drive best practices in code quality, performance, and security.
Mentor and support engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions.

What We’re Looking For:

Extensive experience in backend development, with a strong focus on TypeScript and Node.js.

Proven ability to design and implement complex systems at scale.

Expertise in RESTful APIs and ideally GraphQL.

Solid understanding of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL).

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes).

Nice to have: Experience with Python for data-centric workflows.

Full-stack expertise with modern front-end frameworks.

Knowledge of infrastructure and DevOps practices for scalable deployments.

Strong leadership skills and a track record of guiding technical teams.
