The Lead Teaching Assistant will provide leadership and support to a team of teaching assistants working 1:1 with children and young people who cannot maintain a place in traditional education settings. This role requires managing day-to-day activities, providing guidance to staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered education under the curriculum provided by Ofsted-registered providers.
You will be expected to:
- Lead and support the teaching assistant team in delivering effective 1:1 learning experiences.
- Work closely with the school/provider to tailor approaches to individual student needs.
- Monitor and evaluate staff and student progress, providing constructive feedback.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Support:
- Provide guidance and mentoring to teaching assistants.
- Ensure adherence to lesson plans and curriculum set by Ofsted-registered providers.
- Support staff in addressing any challenges
Teaching and Monitoring:
- Deliver high-quality, person-centered teaching to students.
- Evaluate and document student progress, ensuring compliance with education plans.
- Ensure safeguarding policies are followed at all times.
Administration:
- Complete and oversee associated paperwork, including incident reports and progress evaluations.
- Organize team schedules and provide regular updates to the school/provider.
- Facilitate communication between staff, case coordinators, and external professionals.
Professionalism:
- Act as a role model for best practices in education and care.
- Attend regular supervisions and training sessions.
- Maintain a professional demeanour when working with students, families, and professionals.
