The Role
As Lead Triage and Repair Engineer you will have the opportunity to maintain, support and innovate equipment, whilst enhancing your engineering knowledge, contributing to the Skynet programme.
Day-to-day, you’ll report to the Remote Terminals Maintenance Manager, establishing and managing an internal equipment triage capability that improves equipment availability across Skynet.
- Lead and coordinate internal repairs within the Engineering Operations team for Skynet
- Manage internal equipment repairs in accordance with test specifications in consultation with the Repairs Manager and the In-Service Support Manager and other departments within Babcock.
- Look for opportunities to increase the scope and portfolio of the Triage & Repair facility in line with the Supportability strategy.
- Conduct Triage & Repair (T&R) activities with aspects of test, repair and inspection of assured Skynet equipment where skills and knowledge allow on behalf of Team Aurora
- Manage workshop facilities ensuring the safe and efficient running of all repair resources and the quality of work produced adhering to health and safety policies and regulatory compliances.
- Diagnose and confirm faults on equipment that has been returned from the user to ascertain the status using test specification documentation and record results.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Oakhanger, Hampshire.
Essential Experience Of The Lead Triage And Repair Engineer
- Excellent knowledge of Radio Frequency sub-systems and digital data communications techniques and protocols.
- In-Service Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment.
- Windows PC Literate. Competent with MS Office Pro (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
- Experience of leading a team and being a subject matter expert sharing knowledge and expertise.
