Summary:
Do you have experience in leakage detection and using pressure reducing valves? Are you looking for a fast-paced and rewarding role to utilise your skills? If you’re a natural problem-solver who enjoys working in a team, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to make a real impact on our water network.
We want to be the water company people want to be supplied by and want to work for.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing the leakage data equipment and systems that keep our network running efficiently. You will spend your days out in the field installing and repairing equipment like pressure reducing valves, data loggers, and water flow meters, or connecting new valves to our mains network. Whether you are a seasoned pro looking for a high-impact role or an aspiring specialist ready to grow with a company that invests in its people, we provide the environment and support for you to succeed.
This is a hands-on field role with technical elements, so it is crucial that you have experience in leakage detection, pressure reducing valves and a background in water distribution networks. This will allow you to maintain PRVs and similar equipment successfully, and ensure that our leakage performance remains outstanding. You will work with our data analysts to carry out checks on our DMAs (District Metered Areas). These are sections of our water distribution network that have been isolated to allow for water monitoring and leakage management.
You will also be liaising with other departments in the company, such as Water Supply, Engineering and Customer Services. You have excellent communication skills and are comfortable speaking to both customers and colleagues outside of your department in order to collaborate and ensure smooth workflows.
As you will be travelling around our supply area, you will need a clean drivers license. We provide a work van to help you get around. You will work 37 hours per week on a shift rota, with usual hours being 8am - 4pm from Monday to Friday, and there may be occasions when you are required to assist customers outside of regular hours. You may also be put on a standby rota, with hours agreed locally.
