The Job Summary: Learning & Development Advisor

Wrightbus is the fastest growing production company in Europe. We have an exciting new opportunity for a Learning and Development Advisor, to support and drive the implementation of our Learning & Development strategy.

The Role

Performance & Development

  • Support the Learning and Development strategy, training needs analysis, and training plan development.
  • Assist in creating ISO9001-compliant L&D policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Develop and deliver training programmes aligned with business objectives.
  • Coordinate the annual training diary and maintain the skills matrix accurately.
  • Report on KPIs to measure L&D effectiveness and support corrective actions.
  • Embed training processes on site and assist with improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and apply for training funding, ensuring audit support mechanisms.
  • Represent Wrightbus in forums on skills and training needs.
  • Negotiate with training providers and maintain documentation.
  • Support succession planning mechanisms across Wrightbus.

Apprentice/Student Management

  • Support and expand the Apprenticeship Programme with appropriate resources.
  • Collaborate with educational institutions to promote Wrightbus opportunities.
  • Assist in apprentice recruitment and build supportive relationships.
  • Ensure apprentice/student safety, site induction, and PPE provision.

Employee Engagement

  • Integrate CSR activities into engagement and support training for small businesses/charities.
  • Promote an employee-centric approach that reflects employee needs.

Onboarding

  • Support an induction process that aligns with best practice and embeds engagement while meeting legal/business requirements.
  • P&D Information System / Reports
  • Ensure timely and accurate system updates.
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports to support performance review and improvement.
  • Assist with timely and accurate grant claim submissions.

Other Performance and Development Duties

  • Advise managers and employees on enquiries.
  • Support team member development and training material creation.
  • Ensure training materials meet Wrightbus standards.
  • Maintain GDPR-compliant training databases.
  • Develop and standardize L&D processes and systems.
  • Conduct audits and process reviews for proper implementation.
  • Attend stakeholder meetings to report on training delivery.
  • Lead and manage L&D projects aligned with strategy.

Essential Criteria

  • 3rd Level qualification or above & 12 months' recent continuous experience working in a learning & development environment. Or 2 years recent experience in a Learning & Development role within the last 5 years.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and co ordinating onboarding for new employees.
  • Strong experience of utilising computerised system collate training information and create relevant reports.
  • Previous experience of ensuring that employees receive mandatory training to meet legal requirements.
