What’s the role?
You'll get hands-on experience with a variety of tasks, helping you develop essential workplace skills. Your role might include:
- Providing administrative support: Answering calls, managing emails, and keeping our records organised.
- Helping out with projects: Assisting teams with tasks that support our vital services.
- Learning new IT skills: Getting comfortable with essential office software, systems and AI.
- Communicating with colleagues: Becoming a confident and professional member of our team.
- Shadowing experienced staff: Seeing how different parts of the council operate.
- Reception duties – Meeting and speaking to residents.
Don't worry if you've never done these things before – we'll provide full training and support every step of the way!

What We’re Looking For
- You're enthusiastic and eager to learn. A positive attitude goes a long way.
- You're reliable and a good team player.
- You have basic computer skills (or are keen to learn them quickly).

Location
Some roles are based in Laurence House, others are across the borough in other council buildings across, we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.
Special conditions/Eligibility Criteria
- 17-25 years old
- Lewisham Care Leaver or looked after child (Supported by Drive Forward Foundation).
- Right to work with Photo ID
- Reference

£9,027 (6 months) (London Living Wage)
