Lecturer in Clinical Skills and Simulation (1.0 full-time equivalent, 36 months fixed term)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a pharmacist or healthcare professional, with experience in teaching clinical skills in both a clinical and simulated environment, to contribute to the teaching and research portfolio of the Pharmacy Subject Group within the School of Applied Sciences, University of Brighton.
We are looking for an individual to work in our Pharmacy Subject Group to deliver and design clinical simulations for our undergraduate student pharmacists. The simulations form a key part of our MPharm curriculum and aim to develop clinical skills including physical assessment, consultation and prescribing. You will contribute to the design of appropriate assessments in clinical competence, such as OSCEs. We encourage the successful candidate to engage in clinical research, collaborating with the Centre for Lifelong Health and colleagues within the local NHS.
The Successful Candidate Will
- Hold a degree in a health (for example physiology or pharmacology) or a health-care related discipline (for example such as pharmacy, medicine, nursing or physiotherapy) or an equivalent degree
- Be a member of a professional or regulatory body, as applicable
- Have experience of delivering simulation teaching to health care students, especially relating to physical assessment in either an academic or clinical environment
We are looking for someone who can inspire the next generation of pharmacy graduates by using innovative, research informed approaches to clinical teaching, fostering inquisitive thinkers capable of effective decision-making.
Our team delivers clinical teaching to undergraduate students on our patient-centred, case-based MPharm degree. We also run several post-graduate courses which includes Postgraduate Diploma/MSc Pharmacy (Overseas Pharmacists’ Assessment Programme – OSPAP). The Pharmacy team leads interprofessional teaching with the Brighton and Sussex Medical school and have strong research and teaching links with the pharmacy teams at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust and other local Trusts.
