Turning Passion into Purpose. London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting to a Lecturer in Game Art in the School of Computer Science and Digital Technologies. The School offers cutting-edge courses combining theory, creativity, and professional practice across disciplines such as AI, Data Science, Cyber Security, and Games Design. Guided by industry needs and research excellence, it partners with leading organisations to enhance employability.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students to explore every aspect of game creation, from art and storytelling to programming, accessibility, and playtesting. You will guide students in building strong portfolios and transferable digital skills for a fast-moving industry and you will help shape LSBU’s new BA (Hons) Game Design and Development course, uniting creativity, technology, and critical thinking. The course primarily teaches Maya and the ideal applicant would have good working knowledge of this as well as Adobe Suite, Mixamo, Blender and other 3D modelling software.

About You:
We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:
- A good honours degree in a relevant discipline (and ideally a postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience).
- Passionate and versatile educator with expertise in game and 3D modelling.
- Strong understanding of the creative and technical aspects of contemporary game development practice.
- Experience teaching or mentoring students, ideally in higher education.
- Commitment to inclusive, accessible, and industry-relevant learning.
- Experience in the games industry is desirable.
The ideal candidate will be degree educated and will be an enthusiastic collaborator who can inspire students, contribute to curriculum development, and help strengthen LSBU’s growing community of creative technologists. We welcome applicants who will bring professional or academic experience in areas such as character design, character modelling, environment art, prop modelling, lighting, texturing and animation.
