Join Our Passionate Academic Team and Shape the Future of Nursing.

Are you ready to inspire the next generation of nursing professionals? This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a vibrant, forward-thinking academic team committed to excellence in nursing education. You’ll play a key role in delivering an engaging and transformative learning experience—empowering students to become critical thinkers and compassionate, high-calibre practitioners.

Our nursing programmes are designed to equip graduates with the knowledge, skills, and innovative mindset needed to thrive in today’s dynamic healthcare landscape. We’re seeking a dedicated Lecturer with current, hands-on experience in nursing practice to help bridge the gap between theory and real-world application.

In this role, you’ll actively support students in both academic and clinical settings, guiding their development and professional growth. You’ll also collaborate with colleagues across the School to drive forward research and scholarly initiatives that enrich our teaching and impact the wider healthcare community. At the heart of our approach is a strong partnership ethos—we work closely with students, fellow academics, researchers, service users, and healthcare professionals to deliver education grounded in the latest research and best practices.

  • Registration as a Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Council
  • A good first degree relevant to healthcare
  • A Higher Education teaching qualification and/or an HEA Fellowship, or willingness to undertake this within the first 12 months
  • Experience of leading and implementing creative approaches to developing teaching and learning of Nursing related skills and knowledge in university and/or practice setting.

If you have a PhD or Doctorate and can supervise at this level, you will have opportunities to develop as the university has an active programme for supporting early career researchers.

For informal enquiries please contact, Hannah Morris-Ingram ([email protected])

This post is ideally 0.5 full-time equivalent and is post based at our Falmer campus site. Interviews for the role will be on the 22nd July 2025.
