Salary: £29,565 - £43,562 per annum *

Annual Leave: 45 days per annum plus bank holidays

Contractual hours: 37 hours per week

Teaching hours: 864 hours per annum

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Lecturer in Plumbing to join our Construction team. In this dynamic teaching position, you will plan and deliver high‑quality lessons that meet the individual needs, interests and abilities of every student, while creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment. You’ll use a range of effective teaching strategies, resources and assessment methods in line with best practice and College standards, including delivering a robust assessment programme and using diagnostic tools to drive targeted support. You will contribute to internal verification processes, maintain accurate records, and uphold all College policies, procedures and core values through the Taking Teaching Higher strategy. With a commitment to student safety, strong professional relationships, and continuous professional development, you’ll help shape a positive and successful learning experience for all.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Lecturer in Plumbing, you will:

• Deliver and manage high-quality, inclusive teaching, learning, and assessment in Plumbing within the Construction sector.
• Provide hands-on and theoretical instruction in key areas such as pipework systems, hot and cold water installations, sanitation, and heating systems.
• Support students' academic and personal growth, helping them achieve their full potential.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that connect classroom learning to real-world plumbing applications and industry standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the learning experience and address the needs of all students.
• Support student recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression, providing guidance and tailored support.
  
  

What We’re Looking For

We seek candidates who:

• To be a qualified Teacher with Certificate in Education qualification or be willing to work towards.
• Hold a level 3 qualification in Plumbing minimum
• GCSEs at Grade C/ Level 4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.
• Hold Assessor L3 and Verifier L4 qualifications or be willing to work towards.

The salary progression criteria beyond point 11 of the Lecturer scale will be based on you achieving and maintaining, on an annual basis, the Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) & QTS.  To progress beyond point 14 of the Lecturer salary scale, you will be expected to achieve and maintain the Advanced Teacher Status (ATS). *
