London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting a lecturer for English for Academic Purposes (EAP) to join LSBU Global. Our aim is to bring London closer to our students wherever they are, to positively impact over a million lives through the provision of LSBU courses locally, and to create an interactive experience for all our students.
We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and creative English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Lecturer, with a developing track record in both teaching and course design, to deliver and undertake English language teaching-related duties for LSBU Global. The post holder’s main duty will be to deliver EAP at LSBU Joint Schools to foundation level students in China. We are expecting that the candidate will help to enhance and further the quality of the student experience at the Joint Schools and contribute to the development of high-quality EAP provision.
This post is on a fixed term basis for 2 years.
About You:
We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:
- To be able to enhance the quality of the student experience in the subject area through innovation in learning and teaching, course planning and development, subject review and external liaison.
- To contribute to the development of specified, high-quality EAP provision which meet students’ needs.
- To ensure that the EAP course meets the University’s commitment to equality through development of the curriculum and by diversifying the range of students.
- To be able to prepare and teach, using lecture, practical, seminar and tutorial classes and other methods, as appropriate, in the field of EAP, including working with other staff where appropriate. This includes travelling to the Joint Schools to deliver teaching in the People’s Republic of China.
The post holder will be expected to work on their own initiative most of the time. Additionally, they will form part of the overall team within LSBU Global and within the academic delivery team within LSBU and our partners. The successful applicant will be expected to perform additional tasks and activities within their grade.
