Assala Energy is a dynamic Oil and Gas Exploration and Production company committed to the sustainable development of its assets in Gabon. We value a collaborative approach, promote diversity, and prioritize safety and integrity in all our operations.

The Legal and Compliance department is seeking a motivated university student to join their team as a Legal & Compliance Intern. In this role, you will assist the team with compliance reviews, due diligence research, legal matters, data protection, process organisation, and team coordination. This internship provides hands-on experience in legal and compliance fields, allowing you to work with experienced professionals, engage in meaningful projects, and develop a diverse skill set for your future career.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Compliance Analyst with conducting compliance reviews, research, and renewals.
  • Assist with due diligence research, adverse media and sanctions checks on current and new vendors.
  • Support legal matters across Assala UK departments
  • Provide support on Data Protection matters.
  • Create trackers to generate and organise difference legal processes.
  • Aid in the organisation of a shared Legal and Compliance team space.


Other Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the wider C&P team and Senior Legal Counsel on an ad hoc basis
  • Assist the Supply Chain teams in implementing and updating the new vendor registration management system.
  • Assist in the migration of data from old systems to the new vendor registration management system.
  • Test and troubleshoot the vendor registration management system to identify and resolve issues

Requirements

  • Recent university Graduate or current university student in a humanities-based discipline. 
  • Ability to pay close attention to details, ensuring accuracy in documentation and data entry.
  • Excellent organisational, presentation, and communication skills
  • Self motivated with strong attention to detail
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in French is a plus but not essential
