Who We Are.
We are a global marine geoscience and technology business. We are pioneers using ground-breaking technology to study what lies beneath the ocean floor. We help energy companies plan ahead, accelerating responsible use of the planet’s resources. We provide marine seismic data, imaging products and data processing software. Our teams offer unparalleled acquisition capability to our clients, providing them with the tools they need to reduce exploration risks and maximise their production efficiency.
Can you provide critical legal support to our business lines?
We’re looking for a Legal Counsel to join our international Legal team. You’d be based in Norway (Bergen or Oslo) or UK (Gatwick).
Ensuring we maintain our legal and contractual position within all business lines is critical. You will provide clarity on legal issues and contractual advice to the global Sales team with client tenders, including our recently established New Markets and the Supply Chain team.
You will play a key role in researching and evaluating different risk factors to ensure that project specific contractual risks are continually evaluated and reduced.
In providing a great service to our internal teams, it may also be necessary for you to deal with external parties such as regulators, external lawyers and clients.
Technically speaking…
You will have a legal education and a few years of experience working within contract or commercial law. A background in the maritime or energy sector would be beneficial.
Good communication skills are crucial for the ability to work with a range of stakeholders and to provide clear guidance on complex legal issues to our teams across the globe.
In personal terms….
We’re looking for a professional with high ethical awareness and integrity.
You will need to be a team player with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
You will be naturally organised, intuitive and prioritise matters to complete work within deadlines.
What does Shearwater offer you?
Please be advised that we will review applications and organise interviews in line with the availability of the hiring team, with the intention to complete the recruitment process as soon as possible. However, due to the upcoming summer period there may be a delay to this process, which we will communicate with full transparency throughout the process.
Curious? Perfect. We all have that in common.
