Legal Counsel- Ethics & Compliance role sits with a client operating in the Energy sector, based in London (hybrid working).

Description

This Legal Counsel- Ethics & Compliance is based in London and would suit a qualified Lawyer with focused compliance experience or a Corporate Compliance professional who has contract review experience. It involves:

Provide legal advice and guidance on compliance matters across the organisation.
Ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures.
Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate legal risks.
Review and draft contracts, agreements, and other legal documentation.
Deliver training and support to internal teams on compliance and legal matters.
Monitor changes in legislation and advise on their impact on the organisation.

Collaborate with external counsel and regulatory bodies as required.

Profile

A successful Legal Counsel-Compliance should have:

A degree in law and qualification to practise as a solicitor or equivalent. Candidates who are not qualified lawyers, but have the relevant compliance expertise & experience will be considered.
Strong knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements
Proven ability to manage legal risks and provide strategic advice.
Excellent drafting and negotiation skills for contracts and agreements.
Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Experience in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
