The Role
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Legal Project Coordinator to support the delivery of legal projects and initiatives across our legal function. Based in
Newcastle, you will work closely with legal teams, business stakeholders, and external counsel to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
The main focus of our LPM team is to support Partners and legal teams in setting up and managing the delivery of their matters, as well as providing strategic input at a client level. This role has been created to provide additional support to our growing LPM team.
The successful candidate will be based in our
Newcastle office and will report to the Head of Legal Project Management for EMAEA.
This is a critical role and provides a great opportunity to help drive change in the delivery of our legal services. The work you will be involved in will vary in accordance with the ongoing projects and initiatives within the LPM team and the business. Training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of legal projects across our core practice groups.
- Coordinate project timelines, resources, and deliverables using project management tools and methodologies.
- Track project progress, identify risks, and escalate issues to project leads as needed.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including status reports, meeting agendas, and action logs.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure smooth communication and collaboration.
- Assist the LPM and Legal Transformation Programme teams in implementing relevant legal technologies on matters.
- Assist in the development and implementation of legal operations processes and best practices.
- Support budget tracking, resource allocation, and third-party management for legal projects.
- Analyse and manipulate data sets using bespoke software, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Power BI, to provide insight appropriate for consumption by different stakeholders.
- Contribute to post-project reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with other special projects as needed.
Skills And Experience Required
- Degree or equivalent experience in Law, Business, Project Management, or a related field.
- Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, or Agile) is desirable but not essential.
- Previous experience in a legal or project coordination role (legal sector experience preferred).
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools (e.g., MS Project, SharePoint, Power BI).
- Advanced MS Excel skills advantageous.
- Familiarity with legal technology platforms (e.g. HighQ,) is a plus.
- A proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative approach to work.
- Have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Good analytical skills and the ability to manipulate and work with large amounts of data.
- Ability to identify and present on key messages resulting from analytical projects.
- Positive, committed and prepared to use initiative and learn.
- Ability to demonstrate interest and concern to meet the needs of internal and external clients.
