Salary: Starting Salary is £26,824 (Level one) rising to £27,694 per annum

About The Role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Legal Administrator to support our team of in-house Solicitors and Legal Assistants who provide legal advice to the Council’s Children and Adults Social Care teams.

In This Role, You Will

  • Prepare and produce legal documents to a high standard, often working independently and to strict deadlines.
  • Use specialist software to collate, format, and manage legal documentation.
  • Arrange appointments and meetings, liaise with clients, and handle finance-related tasks such as processing invoices.
  • Use our in-house case management system, Advanced Legal Business (ALB)—full training will be provided.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.

You’ll need to demonstrate a professional, conscientious, and courteous approach when dealing with a wide range of stakeholders, including social workers, senior Council officers, and elected members.

Previous experience in a legal environment—especially within children and adults social care—is highly desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided. If you're looking to grow your career, there may be an opportunity to complete an apprenticeship—please indicate your interest in your application.

A law degree is not required to apply for this role.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. knowledge & use of Adobe Creative software is highly desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage financial tasks in line with Council regulations.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage your workload independently and as part of a team.
