Description
The Diocese of York is the Church of England between the Rivers Humber and Tees, and from the Yorkshire coast westwards to around the A1. We are seeking to Live Christ’s Story (LCS) by becoming more like Christ, reaching people we currently don’t, growing churches of missionary disciples, and transforming our finances and structures.

We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised Assistant Administrator to join our Lifelong Learning Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting continuing ministerial development and training events, working alongside a committed and dynamic team.

About The Role

You will provide essential general office support, working closely with the Senior Administrator and Academic Registrar, and reporting directly to the Head of Lifelong Learning. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Handling enquiries and directing them to the appropriate contacts
  • Coordinating and managing event bookings
  • Maintaining accurate records using spreadsheets and our Contact Management System
  • Offering administrative support to staff, tutors, volunteers, and students
  • Supporting the smooth delivery of various team projects

About You

We’re seeking someone with:

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • The capacity to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • A flexible, team-oriented approach

We are committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion and welcome applications from disabled candidates and those from UKME heritage as these groups are under-represented in our staff. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All employees are expected to share this commitment. You will be required to undertake safeguarding training, and this role may be subject to a DBS check.

Only fully completed applications through Pathways will be accepted; applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Closing date: Thursday, 29 May 2025
